Offers in languages other than German

On request, we can offer our range of walking tours and thematic guided tours of the exhibitions in English and, in some cases, also Italian and French.

Whereas the permanent and special exhibitions can be visited with thematic guided tours in the historical buildings at the Römerberg, the walking tours of the city are very diverse, so that you can be sure of finding something of interest to you and your group, e.g.:

  • The tour of the city entitled "Old Town, Eastern Section" provides insight into the various layers that have accrued over the centuries to create the city as it looks today. The chief focus is on the cathedral and Römer area, which will undoubtedly provide plenty of food for discussion among visitors for many years to come, since the demolition of the Technisches Rathaus and the new addition to the historisches museum will introduce entirely new accents to the city's outward appearance.
  •

  • The walking tour on "Jewish Life" connects various sites to shed light on the history of the city's Jewish community over the many centuries from the Middle Ages to the Holocaust. The plaque recalling the book-burning on the Römerberg is as much a memento of that history as the south side of the cathedral – the earliest site of Judaeo-Christian co-existence in Frankfurt – or the Börneplatz memorial.
