Porcelain Museum Frankfurt

The Frankfurt Porcelain Museum has been closed since the end of June 2026. For 32 years, the Kronberger Haus at 152 Bolongarostraße in Frankfurt-Höchst was home to the Porcelain Museum, which housed almost 2,000 exhibits. The most comprehensive public collection of Höchst faience and porcelain in the German-speaking world will be on display from next year just a few hundred metres away at the Bolongaro Palace. 

Some exhibits from the porcelain collection are currently on display at the Stadtlabor ‘Höchst tells its story! About the Museum in the Bolonbaro Palace’ (until 28 February 2027) at the Frankfurt Historical Museum, offering a first glimpse of the future exhibition of Höchst porcelain and faience. At the Bolongaro Palace, which is due to open in summer 2027, Höchster porcelain will be presented in a new light through a fresh exhibition concept, featuring multimedia interactive stations and a wide range of hands-on activities. A particular focus of the new venue is on the collaborative development of exhibitions through participatory museum work with the local community in western Frankfurt and in cooperation with cultural institutions within the palace itself.

The aristocratic palace, built by Franz von Kronberg between 1577 and 1580, housed around 1,800 pieces of Höchst faience and porcelain from 1994 to 2026, primarily from the Rococo and Classical periods.
