Collector's Museum

Collections are fascinating to this day because, in addition to the objects they contain, they also say something about the people who collected them: about their passions or obsessions, their view of the world and their tastes, their friendships and networks.

In the historic buildings of the Saalhof, the Historisches Museum Frankfurt presents twelve formerly private collections from the 17th to 20th centuries. For children and their adult companions, a children's trail leads through the rooms on four levels. The intervention trail "Blickwechsel - Dem Rassismus auf der Spur" (Changing perspectives - on the trail of racism) takes a critical look at individual exhibits.
