How did Frankfurt become what it is today? And what makes Frankfurt different from other cities? A look inside the snow globe provides answers to these questions. Eight artists have designed models that build on and explore Frankfurt's reputation.

Almost every year, Frankfurt is at the top of the nationwide crime statistics. Does Frankfurt rightly have this image? How close are the bank towers that have earned Frankfurt the nickname "Mainhattan" to the Tower of Babel? What role does industry play in the city? What are the hubs outside the airport? What history and facets of a "secret capital" does Frankfurt have? How and where did protests and criticism emerge? What are important places and moments of Jewish life in Frankfurt? Is the city an eternal construction site?

Frankfurt models: Capital of Crime, Bankfurt, Industrial City, Hub, Secret Capital, Critical City, Jewish City, Eternal Construction Site.

Artists of the models: Tracey Snelling, Jakob Michael Birn, Rob Voerman, Edwin Zwakman, Marc Giai-Miniet, Florian Göttke, Stephan Mörsch, Daniel Verkerk.
