What is behind that curtain

Curiosity is the art of asking questions! With her aesthetically brilliant installation, Cornelia F.Ch. Heier provokes the viewer's perception with an additional rhetorical question:
WHAT IS BEHIND THAT CURTAIN is not a mere invitation to question the secret, the hidden, the enigmatic, the unknown, but an artistic demand for transparency in all socially relevant areas. Cornelia F.Ch. Heier thus proves herself to be an authentic zoon politikon, a social and political being with consistently democratic principles.

The artist creates a monumental curtain made of metal mesh dramatically kneaded into folds and full of light reflections, as a symbol of the staging of power, with a fascinating plasticity and surface structure. Perhaps an iron curtain?
But concealment also involves deception. Behind it, we discover the trompe-l'œil painting of another curtain. It is a closed or closing curtain, it conceals, creates secrets, even questions reality: is there something behind it?

A curtain as a work of art with an impressive presence: poetic, metaphorical and extremely contemporary. It demands an examination of controversial social issues and has a magical attraction for the viewer.

The oeuvre of Frankfurt artist Cornelia F.Ch. Heier (*1963, in Kassel), which is characterized by aesthetic diversity and a precise sense of space, comprises installations, sculptures, objects, paintings and audios whose conceptual themes always revolve around elementary existential questions of human life.
