Moving Clothes
A fashionable CityLab

CityLab Exhibition
5 May until 16 August 2020
The CityLab exhibition extended the theme of the special exhibition "Clothing in Motion" into Frankfurt's present. It focused on model clothes from the Frankfurt School of Clothing and Fashion, which not only allow movement but also express it.
Ten students were concerned with the term "movement" as part of their training as tailors.
Ten very creative and individual models were created, which were combined into an imaginative and experimental collection of dresses in the exhibition.

The contributions on Frankfurt's alteration tailoring and furrieries from the previous CityLab exhibition "Hardly an ordinary life" tell us that movement can also be understood symbolically: In biographies that are changed by their migration history and in which working with clothes and fabrics plays a central role.
