„I Spy with My Little Eye:
Racism, Resistance and Empowerment“

Guides navigate you in a group of up to 25 people through the 3D rooms of the exhibition and explain individual objects and areas.

In public discussions about racism and colonial history, the perspective of affected people is often not heard. The Stadtlabor exhibition „I Spy with My Little Eye: Racism, Resistance and Empowerment" is dedicated to the various forms of racism, the effects on those affected - but also shows how people stand up against it and what strengthens them in doing so. The contributions were developed in close cooperations between the museum and experts from various activist and migrant initiatives in Frankfurt. They are diverse, political and personal. The live format allows you to interact with the guides and other participants.

„I Spy with My Little Eye: Racism, Resistance and Empowerment“

The CityLab exhibition "I Spy with My Little Eye: Racism, Resistance and Empowerment" is dedicated to the various forms of racism, the effects on those affected - but also shows how people stand up to it and what encourages them to do so.
The framework for the educational program is the 3D tour through the CityLab. Participants learn more about the different forms of racism and their effects, but also about the various strategies for empowering oneself to fight racism. The facilitators of the Historical Museum explain the topics of the exhibitions, show central objects, and use a variety of media. During the online tour, we rely on the exchange with the group and use activating tools such as polls, quizzes, surveys and discussions in small groups. The material offered provides impulses for thought and conveys knowledge and central concepts in appropriate language. The common conclusion underlines the exhibition's wish for a present in solidarity and critical of racism. Here the students are asked to creatively develop their own empowerment strategies.
