Filming the city!
25 January – 30 August 2017
In 2017, we introduced a new format at the CityLab. In a participatory process, seven films were made about the personal and subjective experience of the city. They are part of a large wall projection in our new permanent exhibition Frankfurt Jetzt! which opened in fall 2017. The films focus on Frankfurt topics such as building and living, mobility and traffic, economy or population. There are many key figures and statistics on these topics that convey a picture of Frankfurt and are part of the wall projection. In order to put this information alongside the subjective experience of the city, the Citylab participants made seven films. They are each one minute long and without sound. As always in the CityLab, the films were made in collaboration with professionals who provide advice and support. Julian Vogel, a director and cameraman from Frankfurt, was on board for the CityLab film.
